Wonderland Beginner Guide
Welcome to Wonderland — a paradise created by Wonder. You are inside a randomized, toy-themed amusement park and you need to escape. The creatures that run the park have other plans. This guide covers the verified core loop and the survival basics you need before your first run.
The core loop
Every run follows the same rhythm:
- Explore the park. Each run generates a different layout — areas, mini-game spots, monster spawns and events are randomized. There is no fixed route to memorize.
- Complete mini-games. Puzzles and mini-games unlock new areas and earn in-run currency. Solving them can also be the only way out of a monster encounter.
- Spend Tickets. Tickets earned in a run buy tools from the in-run Wonder Shop (Map, Stopwatch, Hammer, Minigun).
- Escape. Survive the monsters — Mr. Sun, Wonder, Wander and more — and get out.
Randomized runs are confirmed officially: “heavy randomization so that every session is unique” (official ScaryPlay FAQ).
The stamina system
Your character has a stamina bar that depletes when sprinting:
- Sprint drains stamina. Once empty, you can only walk until it recovers.
- Stamina recovers while walking, not standing still (community reports).
- Sprint in short bursts. If you are not being actively chased, walk to let the bar recover.
Official patch note (Aug 15): Sprint is now a toggle by default (with an option to make it hold). Crouch is now hold by default (with an option to make it toggle). Check your settings.
Three lives
You start each run with three lives (community reports; the in-run HUD shows your lives, health and time left — confirmed by the official Bear Box gamepass description). Death costs a life; lose all three and the run ends.
Mini-games and puzzles
Progress depends on completing mini-games scattered through the park. Documented types include sequential puzzles, lever arrays, mazes and platforming obbies. The Map shows puzzle locations with a puzzle-piece icon (confirmed officially, Aug 14 patch). See the Puzzles hub for each type.
Survivor basics
- Listen. Distorted carnival audio and flickering lights signal Mr. Sun is nearby (community reports).
- Walk, don’t run. Wonder homes in on sprinting noise — crouching or walking prevents detection (community reports).
- Buy the Map first. It reveals the layout, mini-game spots and retreat routes — the highest general value early in a run (community reports).
- Bandages heal teammates in co-op (confirmed by the official Team Player badge).
Co-op
You can play solo or team up with up to 4 friends for a 5-player lobby (confirmed officially, ScaryPlay FAQ). Boss fight health and quota scale with the number of alive players (official patch notes, Aug 15).
What about codes?
Wonderland has a codes system. See the Codes page for the current active code (RELEASE26 — 100 Gems, verified 2026-08-16).
Quick start checklist
